There are many independent shops, cafes and restaurants down Gillygate, which is on the walk into the city centre. Getting around If you are catching the bus from York Station, jump on First bus 1 or 5 and get off at Clarence Gardens (Stop ID: ). To catch the bus to the city, the nearest bus stop is also on Haxby Road, Walpole Street (Stop ID: ) which is a few minutes walk away. Frequent buses go to the city centre if you don't want the 15 minute walk. All bus routes go to the city and then on to the Railway Station a few minutes further away.
