This is a 1942 harbour launch navy boat called ‘Sunseeker’. It is 52’ by 12’, so much wider than a typical narrowboat. I would also consider selling the boat (for around £30k). There is a main bedroom, a small bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, an engine room, a sitting room and a wheelhouse (which could also be a bedroom). It is located near King’s lock and Oxey Meads, which makes it about 25 minutes cycle from the train station or city centre. The cycle path is along the canal, which is a beautiful cycle ride. There is a wood burning stove, an oil burning (Refleks) stove, two radiators, a gas-powered water heater, a gas stove for cooking, shower, portipoti toilet, solar panel and washing machine. Unfortunately, the shower only does cold water and maybe a trickle of hot water, maybe a new pump is needed, but the hot water works fine in the sink and you can always heat water on the gas stove. There is also a water filtration system with a UV steriliser. Another option for water is to fill up containers from the tap at King’s Lock. This area floods during the winter so you will need waders to get to the road. This is a nice place to live for one person, a couple, or even a family. The boat has a deep keel, with a water draught of four and a half feet, which means it usually gets stuck in port meadow, although it did make it here from London so it is possible. The boat is also too wide for the canal. But the current location is great and so there is no need to move. The boat has a valid boat safety certificate.
